All I ask is that what I post you read with an open mind. Please make any judgements or decisions based on what your individual value(s), ideas, up-bringing may be. Remember, you are an individual, not a piece of a bigger group. The greatest thing about this country is that we have individual freedom. Really.

My 2 cents and you can keep the change

I am just an ordinary everyday citizen who is trying to get his voice heard. I think for myself and I don't always agree with someone or something 100% of the time, but that is entirely up to me to make that call. I really became interested in the political scene after 9/11 happened.

I am new to blogging, but it is something that I have always wanted to do. Give my opinion on certain current events along with happenings of everyday life is what I want to share with everyone. I am not mainstream by any way, nor do I feel that I have to solely committ to one party. However, I will committ to values that align with my own.

Is this fair?

I read ths article on the yahoo, and since I am currently taking law classes I felt that it would be appropriate to comment on. (latimes.com/news/local/la-me-billboard28-2010feb28,0,7528587.story?track
=rss)

This is a rare occasion where the city attorney files charges against an individual. Also, it is clearly seen that this is being held as a politically motivated case, since, for a misdemeanor, the bail was set at 1 million dollars. For a sign violation, keep in mind, that this is cruel and unusual punishment for a misdemeanor. Now, granted bail is set based on the financial situation to one, but still, 1 million dollars for a misde? Just doens't make sense.

Is the City of LA ,trying to make an example of someone? Clearly.

Law School...?

Recently I have came to the determination that I should go ahead and take my education to the fullest extent of my capabilities. I have the support of my long time girlfriend, which is great. With the economy being the way it is, and myself not have a degree as of yet, really affords me the time to go ahead and strive for the most that I can. My industries are almost bankrupt, staffing and mortgage, so I might as well. Ideally I would like to get a job as a law enforement officer in some sort of capacity, but since I keep hearing how every municpality is broke, I feel that I should keep striving forward.

I know how most people feel about individuals with a law degree, but i say it today, I will not do criminal law. I don't have the capacity to defend people that are most of the time guilty, and looking for a way out. Granted there are those that are innocent, but I don't see the ratio being that being  high to where I could justify doing it taking the chance of always defending the innocent in that capacity.

And then again on the other side, I would not want to prosecute those that are innocent. So, I think that at this point in time, I will still try law enforcement in whatever capacity that i can. Why, because it has always been a dream.

OOOOOOOHHHHHH Politics!!!

This morning I was watching a little bit of news on Fox, and I saw this headline, 'Healthcare Bill to create 4 million jobs,' per the administration of course. It boggles my mind how they come up with these numbers. Ok, the current healthcare bill doesn't take effect until 2014, but the taxation in the bill starts immediately. Don't get me wrong, we do need healthcare reform, but not this bill, and not this style of legislation. So, I ponder, how in the he!! are 4 million jobs coming from this bill? I just don't get it. Are the jobs going to be split 50/50 between unicorns and leprechauns? Really though, never in my life have I experienced so much wishful thinking. Do these people actually think that we Americans are buying this B.S.?
